If you played both Doom 3 and Half Life 2, which did you like better?

Explain how much you liked each one in comparison to the other and why. Thanks.
I tend to agree that HL2 had more to offer overall, but why did I want to play Doom 3 again, whereas with hl2 I felt I was done? I don't know if that means it's better, but for some reason I guess I was more into doom. I think for me the atmosphere and intensity of the experience is more important than how complex or advanced the technology and level design is.
