You are probably much less picky than me about video quality.

I bought an ATI TV Wonder capture card, and I run the PS2 to the capture
card and to the monitor. Looks quite nice, nice enough that I don't see
any difference in quality vs a regular TV.

Maybe, or else I find a decent quality TV card and nice monitor are just as
nice of a picture as a mid range TV set.

If the video in card is using RCA the quality will be good, but not
great. I once played FF7PC on my 35" Toshiba using its S-Video in and it
was fantastic compared to RCA (which was almost illegible). Now I use a
TV-Wonder PCI and sometimes play my PS2 on a 31" Gateway Destination.
The TV-Wonder looks a lot better than my old All-in-Wonder Pro/Classic,
but still leaves some to be desired (a normal TV with RCA/S-Video in for
my PS2 looks better). I don't mind much, though.

I do indeed use RCA, though I have an SVideo input on my TV Wonder, I
just don't use it. In my case, I feel that it looks far superior,
probably because: A) I have a nice monitor
B) The capture card is nice quality
C) My TV (before I ditched it for a tv card) was crap
D) My old TV didn't have RCA inputs, so hooking a PS2 up to it required
a little box to convert RCA to Coax, which probably hurt the quality a
bit there too.

Overall, playing on a PC monitor isn't a bad situation, especially since
I spent money on a nice sound system for the PC and now I can take
advantage of it for games as well.
