| Hey does anyone know how to host games on a linksys wrt54g router? cause it lags way to much and I'd like to host games to get rid of this problem.. I know I have to configure my router but everytime I type in the admin password thingy for my ip, it doesn't work... so I can't get to the configuring window to even do anything.. If anyone could help me, i would really appreciate it... thanks guys |

Then you will need to configure your PC as a virtual server. So give the PC either a static IP, or, a reservation in the DHCP. Then configure that IP in the linksys as either a virtual server (all ports) or, if the linksys supports it, direct only traffic destined to port 2302 (or whatever you've chosen to use) to the internal IP. This setup allows the firewall to continue functioning and is preferable to the virtual server, the former bypasses it. Once you have the virtual server or service mapped, you can host. For details on how to do what I just described, check the manual or online documentation. -Russ. |
