plot in halo3 (Spoilers)

Am I the only one thinking that the story in halo 3 was not as well written
or formed as the other two games?

I can barely remember what happened apart (almost) every main character dying,
and them blowing up the original halo again.

the second one developed alot of teh characters, but here they are all given
bit parts
