| not really 'new' news, as "Zelda Revolution' has been mentioned before, well over a year ago, but here's the latest on the next main Zelda game. http://www.gwn.com/news/story.php/id....php/id/10874/ Phantom Hourglass Delayed, New Zelda For Wii? Game Informer claims a new Zelda for Wii is a year into development, while Phantom Hourglass is delayed. According to the latest issue of Game Informer magazine (yes, there are still some print magazines in business), The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS has been delayed until October, 2007. Previously slated for release in Q4, 2006, the game has obviously had a significant setback. Nintendo is yet to announce any reasons for the delay, but we'll keep you posted. The second tidbit of info to come from Game Informer is that apparently Nintendo have been working on a new Zelda game for the Wii for a year now. We're assuming this will be the Wii-exclusive Zelda everyone has been waiting for. While Twilight Princess is a great game, it was originally designed for the GameCube, and in some areas it shows (no voices, simplistic Wiimote controls, etc). If true, this means we may see a new Zelda game for the Wii sooner than we had originally thought. Of course, at this stage it is only a rumor. We'll let you know as soon as we can get confirmation from Nintendo. Dec 11, 2006 |

| I expect Zelda: Phantom Hourglass in Oct-Nov 2007. as for Zelda Wii, the soonest might be late 2008, and I think late 2008 just got a bit more possible given that the game has been in development ~1 year if Game Informer is to be believed. previously, I wasn't expecting a Wii Zelda until late 2009, and while that's still VERY possible given how Nintendo always delays games, I think Wii Zelda coming out 2 years after Twilight Princess is a good possibility. but I'm not counting on a 2008 release, because Zelda on Wii will apparently ditch the formula of all the 3D Zelda games that started with Ocarina. |

What do you mean by, "Wii will apparently ditch the formula of all the 3D Zelda games that started with Ocarina." I've heard that that Zelda will forever be a different game on Wii, I just took that to mean the controllers will make it like a different game. Is there more to it than that? |

| Day wrote: all that is known, is what Nintendo said. Twilight Princess is the last Zelda *AS WE KNOW IT*, which can mean different things. I suspect the way it plays will be very different, meaning that it makes full use of the Wii's 3D sensory control scheme. I'll bet the game will be more gesture based, and have 1 to 1 sword/shield combat if not almost 1:1. I have no idea what the graphics or artwork will be like. they might go back to cel-shading but without the baby-art of Wind Waker. or they might keep it similar to TP. or it might have a totally new visual style. all we know for sure is, the next Zelda will be very different from the last four 3D Zelda's, probably most of all in gameplay. I didn't mean to confuse you. |

I think the only evidence that Zelda will be different is that statement ''last Zelda as we know it". No-one quite knows what that will mean, except obviously the controller is different. |
