| Hello everyone, I've been reading along from Nova Scotia, Canada. We got our hands on a Wii, probably the first sold in our city, just by accident (misinformation by one store clerk, so the second one selling me one early just to keep me happy!) Anyway, we're at about 40 hours and having fun, but I'm having trouble at the fishing hole. I hook fish regularly, but can't land them. Instructions say to reel in (nunchuck) and pull (Wimote), and you will see a land icon come up, then A + B. But I have yet to see a land icon, and keep losing the fish. Any help . . . . Thanks. |

| "P Crocker" <pcrocker@hfx.eastlink.ca> wrote in message news:5wPkh.101386$rv4.88807@edtnps90... It sounds like the fish is jumping and spitting out the hook. When the fish jumps (and most all of them do), lower your rod (lower the Wiimote) briefly until the fish goes back into the water, then pull back on the Wiimote/rod and continue reeling. You won't get a 'land' icon until you get the fish practically under the boat. If that's not the case, and you're getting fish to the boat, then you may be reeling too much and missing the A+B 'Land fish' icon. It'll pop up briefly before switching back to 'reel'. Once you see the icon switch to A+B, press both at the same time to land the fish. I've seen the icon pop up at least once more when I've missed it the first time. The fish usually don't jump when they're close to the boat (not like real fish, who will spit that hook out any chance they get). I usually hold A+B when the icon pops up, but it's probably not necessary. Hope this helps - don't forget to have fun at the fishing shack by exploring everything in the place (even look down at the floor!) The Magic Engineer |

Thanks for that, I actually was successful only when I stopped moving the Wimote up and down so much. Hubby is much more successful, as he is at the rolly game. I think he's almost given up though, at the 7th level - only 2 more to go before the big prize! I must also look at the floor as you suggested. Minor fishing shack spoilers below Looking at the canoe also provides some interesting dialogue... And the jars above the roll game... And the sinker lures behind the counter... And the hat on the wall... as well as other parts of the shack. =) Make sure and go back to each area in the shack at least 3 times. The dialogue will slowly get more advanced until it repeats. It makes for some good laughs! And don't forget to 'tap' on the fish tank a few times! You know how fish looooooooove massive sonic vibrations of their home! =) If you bobber fish near the bridge, you get some fun stuff. Keep going at it though. I've found 5 seperate things, including the empty bottle that you're supposed to find, and not including the fish. Good luck, have fun fishing!
