Default Question For Magic

Hi Magic I'm doing pretty good in TP I just finished finding all the tears
in The Lanayru Province. My question is have you connected your Wii to the
internet yet. I'm having trouble getting getting mine to work. I have a
wired cable highspeed internet connection and I bought the Wii Lan Adapter.
Well my cable modem/router just has one Ethernet connection and a usb
connection, so I unpluged my computer from the modem and pluged the Wii up
to the router, but the ethernet light didn't come on. When I went throught
all the steps for the Wii to connect it to the internet I got this error
message 52022 so I reset the router and Wii but still couldn't an ok test.
What do you think do you think I will have to have another router or what? I
have been trying to find out info but can't seen to find out what to do
next. I hope you can help me!!!!!

Default Question For Magic

Hey Nancy!

I have not connected my Wii to the Internet, only because I am the
only person I know with a Wii. But, from reading your post, I would
suggest the following:

If you have a router, remove it from the setup. Use the cable modem
directly with the Wii. Routers are only needed if you have more
than one thing using your cable access at one time, which in this
case, since you've taken your computer out of the loop, you're
still only using one thing, and don't need the router.

Imagine the router as someone who sorts mail, and your computer
and the Wii are two seperate mailboxes. If you're only delivering mail
to one box, you don't need a router because there's only one
destination. But if you planned on having both mailboxes recieve
mail, then you need someone to make sure that the right mail gets
to the right box, hence the router.

Try it without using the router, and see if it makes a difference.
Routers tend to be more trouble than they're worth.

Good luck!

TME
