Default information on fs 2004 needed

I had Flight Simulator for Windows 95 and played it frequently. The computer
I had at the time wasn't really able to handle a game such as flight
simulator, so I never tried any of the newer versions that came out. I was
just wondering if there is anything that is in the previous versions of
flight sim that is not in flight sim 2004.

Is there actual ATC in 2004? Is there more realistic taxiing and gate
parking? What can I do as far as simple activities in FS 2004?

Just about the only things that are missing in FS2004 are the "land me" menu
option and the absence of large numbers of people whining and complaining
about their pet peeves.
The sim is now so good that people find it perfectly acceptable to complain
that the control tower at their favourite airport is the wrong colour.
Yes, there is ATC, yes you can start at the gate and receive taxi
instructions to different runways depending on weather conditions (and back
again to a proper gate after landing).
Anything you could do in FS95 is still there but to a higher degree of
realism.

Whilst I'd admit that FS2004 is an improvement over the previous version, I
would dispute any level of realism.
ATC that gives aircraft landing permission whilst another is still on the
runway, taxi instructions that has 2 aircraft facing each other. I can't
comment on gate parking.

Treat it as highly enjoyable fun game, and it will give you many hours of
enjoyment.

The Sopwith Camel has gone, but has been replaced with a few more

Yup there is ATC, realistic taxiing, and gate parking.

Flying lessons with Rod Machado are now a feature.

The default Meigs Field, Cessna flight is still there. Together with a
plane-load of other activities, some simple, some complex.
