Multiplayer - FS2004 - Selecting Location When Joining a Game Through MS Game Zone

Whenever I join an FS2004 game through MS Game Zone, I'm dumped onto the
active runway at Seattle. Several people I've chatted with say that you have
to join through an IP address to select your location on the airport. I've
also done many searches on the net and I'm still at a loss as to how to
avoid this problem. So, I assumed that the Zone put you on the active and
that was that. However, when I joined a Game Zone game today, the host was
upset with me (understandably) for appearing on the active (which I hastily
exited). Nobody could let me in on the secret to joining properly. Can
someone please enlighten me? Thanks for any help!
