Default clueless newbie question

Everyone keeps talking about FS9. What is that? I looked on Microsoft's
game site and couldn't figure it out.

its a different name for fs2004.
Microsoft uses fs9 as the foldername and the name of the executable for
fs2004.
They also use Century of Flight of FSCOF. But its all the same

Sounds like how they do street names here in Miami. 3 or 4 names for the
same stretch of road.

Thanks for clearing the confusion.

After Flight Sim 5 for MS-DOS, they changed it to Flight Sim 98, I
suppose to emphasize that it ran on Windows95/98. Since then we
have had FS 2000 (FS7) and FS 2002 (FS8). They probably could
have called it FS XP, I think "2004" is a little off, since it was
released in the middle of 2003, so I guess we are back to FS9.

I thought the 2004 bit was to tie in with the Century of Flight anniversary
