| Does anyone know if there's a set of hi-res guages for the virtual cockpits (specifically the C172) available for FS9? I don't care much for 2d panels as I like to pan around the cockpit, but the instrument detail is a bit soft compared to that of the 2d panels. I did some searches in the Flightsim.com libraries and didn't come up with anything- but there is a 30 mb "texture fix" file out there that is supposed to fix visual discrepencies (both external and VC) for "users of older video cards". I have a GF4 Ti4600 so I'm not sure if this is something that applies to my setup or not. Any ideas/advice? Seems VC enhancements are scarce in 3rd party add-ons. |

For example, look at the baro scale on the altimeter or try to calibrate the heading bug to an exact compass heading. Anothre problem I have is that the LED readouts on the Bendix/King avionics so not illuminate properly in the virtual cockpit. If it's twilight and I don't have the cockpit interior lights on, the readouts are extremely dark. Even with cockpit lights on, they are readible, but still much darker than they are on the 2-d radio panel. I'm not sure if this is a "bug" in the VC or if it's a video card issue. I've got the latest nvidia driver. |

or go to www.dreamfleet2000.com It may not be a C172, but a C177 is better than nothing. Not sure about the Virtual cockpit though. maybe wait a bit, Im sure they'l make a better GA plane soon enough for FS2004. The C177 was designed for FS2002 after all and is just working because of the new Patch. |
