Default FS9 stops spontaneously during flight

Hi all,

I have had it some two or three times till now that FS9 stops spontaneously
when flying IFR with real weather (static and updated) after let's say 10 -
15 min. after IFR-clearance.
Last night I had it on the following flight first with continuous weather
update:

[flightplan]
AppVersion=9.0.30612
title=LSZB to LOWI
description=LSZB, LOWI
type=IFR
routetype=0
cruising_altitude=13000
departure_id=LSZB, N46* 54.77', E7* 30.08', +001672.99
departure_position=PARKING 2
destination_id=LOWI, N47* 15.69', E11* 21.38', +001900.00
departure_name=Belp
destination_name=Innsbruck
waypoint.0=, LSZB, , LSZB, A, N46* 54.77', E7* 30.08', +001672.99,
waypoint.1=, LOWI, , LOWI, A, N47* 15.69', E11* 21.38', +001900.00,

When I restarted this flight with static weather it happened again. Don't
know which coordinates; don't get the time to save the flight.
FS9 just stops and I return to the desktop.

Anyone familiar with the problem?

TIA

JM

Really don't know. Your PLN looks okay and because you're flying 10 min
the departure position is okay. I had similar problems in Fly 1 when
using imported scenery which didn't exactly the default scenary. I fixed
the problem by removing the imported scenery.
Have you tried saving the game 2 min after departure just in case the
system stops? Any error messages?

Default FS9 stops spontaneously during flight

Hi JM,

I had the exact same bad experience twice yesterday. I was flying IFR from
Innsbruck to
EDNY. FS9 suddenly (after about 15 min) without any warning chrashed !
It never happened before - but then it was my first flight in this area
(with IFR) - maybe
it has something to do with the scenery in this area??? I have no addons
installed!
I will try one more time later without the GPS enabled to see if it has
something to do with that???

Default FS9 stops spontaneously during flight

I have now tried the same flight several times (read my previous post)
and FS9 chrashes at the excact same spot just after I get an ATC that
says I have to change course and altitude.
(I have saved the flight just before it crashes)
The location is:
N47* 15.83' E9* 31.61' ALT 9970 FT HDG 262 298 KIAS
(Flying Boing 737)

Does anybody have a clue why it always crashes at this location??

Still no clue but I've crashed on the same flight, 737-400, XP Home,
XP2000, GFTi4200. Some module in FS9 is crashing. Send an email to MS
after you try the route in an C208 or a Beech. Also try using a high
altitude route.

Default FS9 stops spontaneously during flight

Hi,

I solved the problem by deleting the 'fs9.cfg' file (it will automatically
be recreated
by a restart of fs2004)
I think I made some changes of : TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=xxxx

TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=xxxx

(I didn't touch the new fs9.cfg)

Well now it works for me - no more chrashes ;-)

Regards klh

Strange, I did some searching, but don't have that file (fs9.cfg). What's in
the directory though is (how peculiar) fs2000.cfg. It seems odd, but it's
there!
I think I'll remove that one...

I'll keep you posted.

Look in: (if your OS is XP)

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Name?]\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9
