| Has anybody tried this file ( SimpleAI.msi ) from : http://www.simple-ai.com My problem is that when you click the download button it shows as SimpleAI.msi and i'm not sure whether that file is correct as I have not seen a .MSI file before. My help files on my system tell me that is a Windows Installer Package. Fred |

Yres it is an installer - yes it will work - No, in my opinion it is npot worth the effort- none of the flightplans/aieroplanes I have tried to manipulate with this item have worked. Salut, Maybe you have missed something ? You get a "FlightPlans_SimpleAI.txt" with it. You need to compile it, together with your Aircraft.txt and Airports.txt, with TTools2 to get a working .bgl traffic file, to put in FS\Scenery\World\Scenery directory. Try again ! ![]() -- Filipoff |

Fred wrote: Exactly as it says, it's the newest Microsoft installation system. Actually you've used that several time in the past years, except that you didn't know that it was that. If you have Windows ME, 2000 or XP, the installation system is already available on your system and you can double-click the .MSI file to run it. If you have Windows 95 or 98 you need to install the installation system (it's available at the Microsoft website). The .MSI files are more often enclosed within an .EXE file so that you don't need to install the Installer Package is you don't have it. Just try to run the .MSI directly, you should recognize it as the uggly installer that you hate. Hope this helps -- Tom Duhamel Sherbrooke, Québec Sim Student Pilot |

Hi Filipoff - how are you? Yup! I followed the instructions down to the letter. The first two times the aeroplanes did not show up at all. The third time one of them showd in a parking spot but simply stayed there. The fourth time around they both showed up and at their respective 'action' times they just disappeared like burst bubbles. Hence I am a little disillusioned!. Always happy to learn though so open to ??? n Thu, 04 Mar 2004 23:12:08 +0100, Filipoff <filipoff@inter.net> wrote: Peter Don't tell me I can't - tell me how I can! |

Salut, Maybe they are on the way ? Maintenance. ![]() Probably because the arrival time given was before the departure time? Or to short travel time between the 2 points? Often it's the reason. It's all a business. ;-)) Look at the TTools2 User Manual - "ReadMe.htm" on §21 (better to read it all but... i never did it either) and i'm sure i can ask you questions afterwards. At the beginning (with FS2k2) i was just playing with the original Flightplans.txt file (editing it straight), making some changes to add the ai planes, changing to airports i do visit often, and to learn about the process. Only a question of try and failures. And i'm still trying... :-) -- Filipoff |
