TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT

I think thats the one you were originally asking about. I keep mine pretty
high, around 4000 if I remember right, to help with blurry items.

I love that link. Especially the following recommendation:

" I have a DX8 or DX9 card and set the water effects to high but still
cannot see water reflections?

You may need to set the language option in Windows to English via the
control panel."

Does that mean that water effects happen only in english speaking
countries?? ;-)

I think Justin should explain, he knows what he's talking about DEM, I
am not sure I do... <G>

Actually, yes.

I live in Denmark and normally have language options at "Danish". Before I
launch FS9, I change that to "English (United States)". If I forget, I don't
se any reflections in the water.

I wonder if anybody knows exactly why this is? Maybe a more convenient
work-around exists?

some other performance questions, if I may?

(1) probably stupid question, but: does the aircraft type and/or
detail has influence on performance, if you do not see the plane?
(i.e. cockpit view, not spot plane or tower view?) probably not, but
who knows ...

(2) I love Ruud Faber's replacement textures ... no need for autogen
trees any more ... I'd like to have the auto-gen buildings though ...
any way to have auto-gen buildings but no auto-gen trees? (those are
in one slider, right?)

(3) there is a setting for view distance under "weather" ... is it
just my imagination or is the view unlimited if weather is set to
clear no matter which distance is set here?

Now that is odd - is that documented anywhere?

Now I wonder if flying in some other countries, you may not get some
effects unless you switch to a specific, unrelated language ;-(

MS does some strange things at times ....

BTW - do you have the addon for the Oresundsbron bridge? It was for
FS2k2 but works nice in FS9. Have you driven over it yet? Must be an
interesting experience and is one of the things on my 'to do' list
next time I'm in Europe on a Eurail pass.
