| I seem to have done something (I can't think what) that has set all my aircraft to begin with only 12% fuel in the tanks. This didn't used to be the case, once upon a time I'm sure they all had 100%. Does anyone know how to alter the global (default) fuel settings? If I reset the fuel for a particular plane/flight, the setting only remains for that one time - next time I start FS9 all the settings in all aircraft are back to 12% (except auxilliary tanks, in say B747, which are at 100%). I don't really want to have to reset fuel for every flight like this. The FS9.cfg file shows 'UnlimitedFuel=1' by the way. There are of course fuel settings for each separate aircraft, in the aircraft.cfg file, but I certainly haven't been through changing those values, so don't think I should start altering them manually: in any case, since the global setting has changed, there is presumably a way to change it back again, globally....... Thanks! Martin S. |

John, No, I haven't tried altering the default flight - I'll try first thing tomorrow morning and let you know if it works. Thanks, Martin On Sat, 6 Mar 2004 10:21:23 +1000, "John Ward" <johnrmward@optusnet.com.au> wrote: |

Hi, Martin I believe I´ve got a simple answer for your problem... Just create a new default flight (i believe you deleted it by mistake) and make sure you fuel tanks are at 100%...save and exit FS9. This should take care of it... Carlos Sousa Portugal, Europe "Martin S." <ms@ms.com> escreveu na mensagem news:ad3i4052r03rtrjnhpn0enb7f0po6u9aon@4ax.com... |

Martin, As other posters have provided the answer I would have suggested with the default flight setting, here's another thought. Do you really want 100% for all your flights as this will invariably be wrong as well unless your flying a small GA aircraft. For example my typical Jet flight is probably the 737NG within the UK, therefore my default is centre tanks empty and wing tanks at about 70%. In reality this is probably still on the high side but the aircraft lands quite happily which is the reason I make the point. If you always have 100% you will often have problems with landings. Imagine your 747 with 100%, you would need to go on a 10+ hour flight to empty it to a suitable level. Just a thought anyway. No, I wasn't thinking of setting the fuel to 100% in fact - 50% would cover 95% of my flights, which tend to be mostly short-haul. I'll try resetting the default flight now - sounds as if that is the answer as I did change it not long ago. Thanks. M. On Sat, 6 Mar 2004 04:54:35 -0000, "GeoffC" <geoff_noise@hotmail.com> wrote: |

That wasn't what you implied, hence my reply. Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick and you had already thought about this point in which case I apologise for wasting your time. No, you were certainly not wasting my time - I appreciate any replies people send to my questions. I simply meant that when I worked out how to do it, I would set the fuel to less than 100%. Now that I have reset the default flight, the problem is solved - I've set fuel to 75%. Martin :-) |
