| Every time I go to Fuel & Payload and set fuel to 100% a warning window pops up saying that it's out of range. It isn't but it thinks it is. I can only fill up to about 98%. Has anybody else seen this? Anybody know of a fix? Thankz. Anchor's aweigh, The Admiral Ask-me@for.it |

My gosh, never seen that before. Which aircraft? Also, where are you flying? Why do you need 100% fuel? (though ceartainly if your flying a Cessna 172 on a 4 hour flight, or a 747 from LA to Melbourne direct you might want 100%) |

I take off with as much fuel as I can and don't land until I see something interesting or am low on fuel. For example. Let's say the aircraft has a fuel take that holds 19547.2 lbs of fuel. If I put in 100% it fills in the numbers all the way to the top. But then it says that the fuel is out of range and tells me to reset it to 19547.2 or less (which is already is). Even putting in 19547.1 doesn't work. I usually have to put in 1-2% less in order for it to take. And it's not every time....Just about 75% of the time does it bitch. Been this way ever since I got FS2K4. Anchor's aweigh, The Admiral Ask-me@for.it |

when this happens try lowering your payload a little and then see if you can fuel to 100%. maybe flashing that due to whole AC being overweight at that time. -- David MacLeod Etna, Maine USA P4 2.8 OC to 3.13 1 GB DDR 466 Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB 2 Seagate 120 RAID 0 "The Admiral" <ask-me@for.it> wrote in message news:9q1l40hjhnpdrb3qv4dcitv4otvtsbr52q@4ax.com... pops up fill |

Think "usable fuel". On many aircraft, the tanks can never be completely emptied, unless you pump it out. Assume you had an aircraft with 100 gallon tanks, 98 gallons usable. Then assume you flew this plane until the engine quite from fuel starvation (which brings up another set of issues!). You would still only be able to pump 98 gallons into the 100 gallon tanks, because of the 2 gallons of "unusable" fuel in the tanks.
