| I am thinking of getting back to flight sims by purchasing FS2004. The numerous add-ons that are both shareware and commercial is confusing to someone just starting out. I would like to hear your opinions about the best four or five add-ons (including scenery, utilities, aircraft) for FS2004 for someone with a 2.5 ghz/1 gig ram machine. Any thoughts? Since it's been quite a while since I played MSFS, I'd like to get up to speed on the best of the new. URLs would be appreciated. Thanks!! Chuck |

I asked the same question here a couple weeks ago and got some great answers. Here is what I've done so far: 1. Terrain mesh upgrade - www.fsgenesis.net (great meshes and support) 2. Landclass upgrade - www.fsgenesis.net 3. Texture upgrade - www.fscene.com (very nice textures, but a bit pricey) 4. AI Traffic upgrade - http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/ (I just got this one and am now testing, so the jury is still out) Considering: 5. Improved/Realistic Weather - ActiveSky www.hifisim.com/products.htm 6. Better Camera control - ActiveCamera Ken "Charles A. absolutely get FSNavigator. hard to get lost when that is running and well worth the 30$ or so US dollars. I also enjoy Active Camera and am going to start using (today I hope) Active Sky. FSUIPC is a useful tool also and cost ~25$ US to register and get full benefits from. for scenery you can't go wrong with FSGenesis. good products at a great price. I also enjoy CH Products yoke and rudder setup. Having a good vid card helps with the enjoyment a lot too. Check out www.flightsim.com (I paid for the membership to allow full access) and www.avsim.com for a lot of good tips, articles, and downloads. -- David MacLeod Etna, Maine USA P4 2.8 OC to 3.13 1 GB DDR 466 Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB 2 Seagate 120 RAID 0 "Charles A. I would suggest getting some photographic scenery. Best ones are based on aerial photos such as the Visual Flight UK VFR, or Switzerland Professional 2004 IMO. "Charles A. Smith" <casmith@ksu.edu> wrote in message news:c2ffqb$es6$1@cnn.cns.ksu.edu... best for |
