Got some friends ex Cisco (now NZ) coming in to check out my flight sim.
Thought I might do up their area as I have enjoyed flight simming there in
the past. Can someone advise good mesh, landclass and add-ons for the
area please.
Also further up west of Santa Rosa is the bay where Alfred Hitchcock's film
"The Birds" was shot. Can someone familiar with that coast line please give
me exact coordinates?
Thanks for that
Don

Hi Don, you could start with these:
Freeware California Mesh Terrain by Rob Gainer (ex avsim)
Freeware US landclass (by fsgenesis)

Cheers, Oscar

Don,
I think this is the location where the film was made:

Sebastopol, California. (5 mi/8 km west of Santa Rosa.) Lat 38 24N Long
122 50W

The bay you are most likely referring to is:
Bodega Bay
N38 19
W123 02

However, I believe the the film was actually shot in Sebastopol.

To clarify what I was saying, the church that was used is located in the
town of Sebastopol, but the majority of the film was made in the Bodega Bay
area.

Hopefully, all this will help )

I made a scenery for San Francisco based on some aerial photographs. Covers
the entire SF peninsula down to about San Jose, and over to Oakland and
Hayward. The aerials I used to make it are great quality so it looks very
realistic, especially when using along with terrain mesh.

I never uploaded it anywhere because you can really only use it during the
daytime and also there is no autogen. It's really just for showing off and
VFR flying.

It's about 18 meg file. I guess I could post it to
alt.binaries.games.microsoft if you, or anyone else is interested.
