Invisible Stampede: Bug? Cool Strategy?

So, I just played (lost) a 4v4 RT. Orange NE guy buys the beastmaster
and gets his ultimate, stampede. Cool thing about it was, you'd be
attacking them while they hit your base, and the stupid thunder
lizards are running everywhere and exploding (horrible sound effects
BTW), but there's no Beastmaster in sight!

Now, I originally thought that the green Human guy was casting
'invisibility' on the beastmaster when he was casting, but now I'm not
so sure. I didn't see any priestesses around, green was all gryphs.
So, I'm thinking he had a 'Cloak of Shadows' and was just
shadowmelding *while casting stampede* at night.

Thoughts? Sightings? Is it a bug or a feature?

I thought casting/attacking would bring you out of shadowmeld, no?
A replay from his angle would be good.
